My life had lost its meaning
But I knew just what to do
Headed to the shoe store
To buy myself some shoes
I'll take those in size five I said
To the salesman at the store
He looked down at my size ten feet
And he began to roar
He realized I was serious
When I said size five again
We pulled and tugged pried and cried
'Till my feet were finally in
As I limped on over to pay my bill
I heard him askin' why?
Gave my money to the lady
Then gave him this reply
I've been workin' the same job
For more then twenty years
My belly's lapped over my belt
From a few two many beers
Wife up and left me
And the bills are comin' due
Only thing I kin still to look forward too....
Is taken off my shoes
If by chance you see me some day
Limpin' down the street
It's because my poor old toes are bent
Clean up under my feet
Don't ask me to walk too fast
Or my shoes may explode
Ask me why I walk this way
And listen to me unload
I've been workin' the same job
For more then twenty years
My belly's laped over my belt
From a few two many beers
Wife up and left me
And the bills are comin' due
Only thing I kin still to look forward too....
Is taken off my shoes
I've been workin' the same job
For more then twenty years
My belly's laped over my belt
From a few two many beers
Wife up and left me
And the bills are comin' due
Only thing I kin still to look forward too....
Is taken off my shoes
