Dreams

Well I had a little dream just the other night
I was fallen down a hole with no bottom in sight
Just when the bottom was comin' in to view
There I was safe and sound at the zoo
The monkeys were there standing all in a line
in a barbershop quartet singin' songs for a dime

It was a dream a dream a silly little dream
I always seem to have them never know what they mean
Some are kind of funny some are out of hand
there's some I cant remember but there's some that I can

My mother in law had the answer she said
"don't be eaten nothin' before you go to bed"
Took her advice but all night I dreamed
I was standing in a line that stretched for miles it seemed
At the end of the line was this big old sign
That said "double cheese burger for $1.99"

It was a dream a dream a silly little dream
I always seem to have them never know what they mean
Some are kind of funny some are out of hand
there's some I cant remember but there's some that I can

Last week at the fair I saw a neon sign
That said "dreams interpreted just step inside"
Paid may money and stepped on in
Told the lady of these dreams of mine
As she began to speak I was suddenly aware
I had nothing on but my dirty underwear

It was a dream a dream a silly little dream
I always seem to have them never know what they mean
Some are kind of funny some are out of hand
There's some I cant remember but there's some that I can

So I went to the shrink to see what was wrong
He said "Nocturnal psychosis paranoia syndrome"
I said "doc what in the heck does all that stuff mean"
He said "the problem is my boy your havin'' silly little dreams
Pinched him once to make sure he was real
Paid my fifty dollars and to this day still

I'm havin' dreams a dreams silly little dreams
I always seem to hav'em never know what they mean
Some are kind of funny some are out of hand
there's some I cant remember but there's some that I can
